Thanks, there is a good possibility that this is exactly what is happening to me. Wonder how much ford charges for the replacement of this wonderful insulated hose??

on my '02, the hose underneath the insulation is a hard plastic hose. just the sections near the ends are rubber.
I used a piece of tranny cooler line ( much thicker) so the darn thing wouldnt collapse again. just needed a piece bout 4" long to fix it.

Check the plastic hard-line - If that's ok, all you have is the little tree off the PCV which can be acquired at Auto Zone. The only piece that's tricky is that 90 degree elbow by the fire wall. That has to purchased at the dealership.

Can a p0171 code be caused by a plugged cat? I have a new MAF, PCV,EGR.
