P1401

I did the search, my question is this. I purchased a new DPFE from Ford 2-3 years ago. I had the metal body and they gave me the plastic body. The code came back a few months ago. Any idea? Am I fixing to drop another $120 on this piece of $h|t?

No, it's not the same fault. However, it often has the same root cause, ie, a faulty DPFE sensor.

The P0401 code can be caused by almost any of the other components within the EGR system, the P1401 fault code cannot. It can only be caused by an electrical or electronic circuit failure.

It is impossible for the K&N filter to cause this code.
