strange noises, help!
I have an 04 f150 screw 5.4 4x4 with a six inch lift. When i get to about 50 mph, my engine from the left is making a small rattle. (have no idea what it is) Nothing is loose. Also my truck is driving very rough and seems to be having trouble excelerating. ( I have to press on the gas alot more than i used to to pick up speed) That is sound number one, Sound number two is when im cruising at about 50 mph my right tire/rim is making this very loud annoying rattle! The sound echos from underneath my truck. I quickly slow down to about 5 mph and my truck kind of bumps and it feels like something gets back on track and the sound immediatey goes away.
If anyone knows what this stuff is i would greatly appreciate it! This all started happening after i made a few trips back and forth from san antonio to tulsa, oklahoma.

lift the front of the truck so the tires are off the ground, grab the front tire and see if it moves in and out from top to bottom i believe, while your at it try side to side and if it does move maybe have someone poke their head under there to see if they can see where the play is, be careful not to knock the truck off the jack. Les schwab can and will check something like that for free. How does your tranny feel? shifting any different?

no, tranny is shifting fine. I took a good listen today and the constant rattle is coming from the right tire at about 60 mph and the other noise randomly gets loud at 50 mph from the left tire. Im pretty sure the rough ride is from the wheels (bearings etc.) not the engine. Something is up. Bearings sound right. Im going to take it in to my local shop and have the guys take a look. Do you know how much a bearing replacement costs?
