Ok, I will be getting the cat checked out....the truck has 140,000 miles on it.

Edit:

Ok, so here is something new.....I go out to add a quart of oil into the engine. I take the cap off...the oil residue on the bottom of the cap and the tube going down is a thick orange color....what the hell?

Any ideas about this?

Live in Richmond VA. Work is 5 minutes away. I drive the truck 3 times a week to work. Usually we (my wife and I) take her car cause of gas prices, so the truck is currently not used much right now....put it this way, in the past year and a half, I have hit 3 months long before 3000 miles. In fact, I would doubt I have even driven 3000 miles on the truck this year.....hell maybe less than 1500.

So yeah...alot of short trips. Climate is temperate......hot during the summer...mild winters most of the time.

Would all that cause orange oil? The short trips?

The orange - I'm guessing it's something to do with properties in the oil your using .. I would say it's normal. It gets worse when cold out + short trips.

What color anti-freeze you use?

I think your all right
