Engine Shudder at WOT - Warranty Ending - Please Help

Howdy,

Please don't badger me if this topic has been touched on. I searched the forums for about five hours last night.

I recently bought a 06 F150 with a 3V 5.4 engine in it. (5 VIN). Everything is fine with the truck, and I am enjoying it. It had 61K miles on it when I bought it, and I did not receive any completed maintenance schedule paper work with it. However it was well taken care of inside and out, and I am sure maintenance was done accordingly.

After about two thousand miles I have noticed a problem when I floor the truck (WOT) from a stand still. As the engine passes through 3200 - 3300 there is a slight hesitation or shudder in the engine. After 3300 full power is restored and the engine runs great all the way to the shift point. If this was a PowerStroke I would swear it was compressor lag and just chalk it up to that.

I have run two Lucas fuel treatments through the engine, as well as replacing the Air Filter with a K&N. Last night I replaced the Fuel Filter.

I have about 1000 miles before the lot warranty runs out. I love the truck and will do anything to get it running right. I am not looking to hot rod it, I just want to make sure that there is nothing wrong with the engine.

Is this normal for this year model and type or is there something that I need to look at?

Thanks so much,
Matt

Edit: Fixed grammar errors.
