2003 5.4 Fan Shroud Replacement

Anyone know where I could find a stock fan shroud online? I've looked around and the only one I have found was for a 4.6

Also, does anyone have any experience with them? Would NOT having one drop your cooling efficiency dramatically?

I took my shroud and threw it as hard as I could!!! My advise, E-FANS!!!!

Can't do shiznit with the shroud in place! I have not put E-FANS in yet, BUT, am waiting to get a good U-PULL deal!!!! I am in Germany right now, and, it is hard to find a FORD in a U-PULL lot. I just be careful and not put my drunk a@@ hand in there when running, and, have had no errors YET. ( I STRESS THE YET!) LMAO! Shrouds are there for a reason, I have yet to figure out the reason though. LMAO

P.S. I have ran without one for 2 years!! Just a thought to consider!

Do what you want!

Its so the fan draws air across the whole width of the radiator, and not just the center where the blades are

I SEE SAID THE BLIND MAN!

I ain't overheated yet! Of course, my 4.6 is running a 5.4, 4 core unit. LMAO Dude at the U-pull said "It won't work!" I said I'll be back tomorrow with the core. LMAO! 2 years later, well I think the shroud is somewhere in MO and I'm in Germany with my truck! Take your pick! I think it is just another way for the MAN to control our lives. LMAO!

So, the shroud isn't to keep from chopping your hand off huh? LMAO! JK!

I agree. I thought changing out my serpentine belt would be a 5 minute job... then I ran into the fan shroud. Then I though just pulling the fan blades would help... needless to say the shroud took all the damage.

Regarding E-fans... I've heard mixed reviews - some say that they are a pain to get working right, and others (like you guys) wouldn't got with anything else.

Any brand you would recommend?

Replace that wimpy plastic fan with an old school metal fan, stick your hand in there, and let us know what happens...

Well, it all depends on your taste, and, what your are willing to adapt to. You can go to the U-pull, and, get anything within the measurements. Wire them to a toggle and turn it on when the motor gets to temp, and remember to turn it off. OR, if your a real good shade tree, wire it to come on with the key and go off with the key. OR YOU HAVE DEEEEPPPP pockets and lookem up on JEGS and buy the kit. Makes no difference to me. LMAO I'm still trying to reach around the fan with the motor running. LMAO
