Talking More power

I have been having issues with my 2005 FX4 for almost 2 years now. No power (would not even spin on wet roads) and bad shifting. I finally went to the dealer and complained. I told them just how bad the truck was running and they said it was normal. I explained that I had read on the forum (not saying which one ) that there may be an update that needs to be done. Their answer was that there are no updates for my truck but to leave it there with them and they will look at it. Well 8 hours later i get the truck back and what a difference. The FX4 will roast the tires with no problem and the trans shifts perfectly. I looked at the paperwork and it shows 2 updates were installed. So much for no updates for my truck. I guess it is true that the squeeky wheel does get the grease (or at least a new computer program).

That's a great result.
I bet it had something to do with the electronic throttle control.
Go to another dealer and ask them to look at the record for your truck.
Maybe it will tell what was done if your dealer won't tell you.
Good luck.

my dads 06 f350 has electronic throttle and when we go on trips in the mountains or just driving a while the thing loses all the bottom end power but only when we take trips. he has a superchip and it still does it sometimes.
