e-fan wiring question

i have a 99 f150 4.6. i just installed the flex a lite e-fan kit and it is awesome. my question is when hooking up the wire(s) for the a/c do i need to hook up just the power to terminal 8 or do i need to hook up the ground also and put it in terminal 7. the fan system is already grounded so i was not sure if i needed to ground it again. the power wire from the a/c is the grey/white stripe wire and the ground is the black wire coming from the plug. someone shed some light on this please

The instructions say to connect one or the other. As the A/C is grounded by being connected to the engine you need to use the positive lead. That would then need to be connected to terminal #8. Page 2 of the instructions para 4.

The FAL controller is just "listening" for a 12v signal when you splice into the grey/white wire from the compressor. That trips the relay to start the fans when the AC comes on.
