Exclamation Mixed Wrong Gas

My wife recently put about 2 gallons of regular gas with about 6 gallons of premium (its a Harley F150). I need to know if this will cause any harm. I have a diablosport chip and when it was programmed they warned me to put premium only. Am I in for a major breakdown?

Fill-up the rest of the way with 93 and you’ll be good to go

Nothing to worry about. Just avoid heavy throttle until this stuff is out of there or you may get some pinging.

It might ping... but I highly doubt the engine will notice 2 gallons...

The knock sensor should compensate enough to keep you out of trouble.

It's an s/c, hence no functional knock sensors (mechanical blower transients confuse them, so they are disabled in the tuning). Detonation in one of these is highly risky.

OP - NEVER dilute premium fuel on a blown motor if it requires a minimum octane due to aftermarket tuning. You have no safety net as noted above.

Also - never use an octane booster - they contaminate the O2's.

Go find some Torco and add that if you must; this is the ONLY additive that is safe to use.

Stay OUT of boost!!! ... until you know you have a proper supply of quality, undiluted premium fuel.

I am not familiar with TUNES and all that. BUt, if it were me, I would fill up with 93 and let it get to 3/4 tank and fill it back up. Let it get to 1/2 and fill it up. Then down to 1/4 and fill it back up. Do not get into boost till you are certain the 87 is out or diluted enough with the 93.

Additives eat your gaskets. I use HEET in mine 2X a year to compensate for condensation in the tank. Smell it, all it is is alcohool.

I don't think you are in much danger with the 87, but, it is better safe than sorry.

I have had no experience with the boost, but, I do know, screwing with the advise from the installer is not a good Idea. They have the advise for a reason!

Good Luck.

You can always stop by your local airport for a gallon of Avgas

I can give you some VP109 fuel for free but by the time you get up here I think your problem would be solved

Well, plane fuel was one of my ideas but I opted against it. Now that you have said so I guess I will say it might not be a bad idea. LMAO

As long as it's not JP-4 or JP-8 and if it's Mogas run away as fast as you can.

Red face

hey thanks a lot guys, I'm going to try just about all of these ideas, I'll definitely keep it out of boost right now. I'll be sure to post it up if something goes bad. Hopefully nothing will though.

Caution about using any alky based additives.
It's not about the octane rating alky has, but he fact akly will lean out the gas when used in high amounts. That's not good for super charging.
