Take it to an auto-zone and get them to scan the code for free first. Might be something simple?!

Yea , I heard they don't read them for free in California any more. That's the only state so far that I've heard of that doesn't do that.

Anything out of the ordinary like guages? I never put 2 and 2 together this one time my t-stat failed (stuck open). It's the middle of winter and the trucks guage seemed a tad low, finally got a CEL and told my dad I thaught it might have something to do with the temp bieng less than normal. Other than that, it ran fine, just burned more fuel for a week or so. Have the code checked though even if it's a few bucks at the "zone". Tell them Pep boys did it last time free and will again!!!

Vicdees I can tell you for sure that this is not the case here in S. Cal. I had my codes read at autozone atleast 5 times last week without a problem. All they ask that you leave a I.D and a creidit card. After you get the code they will tell you what mite be the problem. Or just post the code here. I am sure all the good folks here will help you out. If you live near Pomona Ca I am willing to give you a hand. Just pm me. Good luck Ben

Autozone will not read the codes FOR you in CA, but they will "loan" you the scanner. In other states, they read them FOR you, free.
