Snake oil, I dont think any harm would come of it thought. Swapping to good quality synthetics should yeild similar results to what you had

Is that the stuff where they drained all of the oil out of the crankcase & drove the car through the desert? Or was it the engine that was encased in ice that started in -20 degree temp?.............

Didnt they also pour sand in the valve cover while it was running?

no, not the stuff they removed the valve covers on and poured sand on, or any of that.

I used to love watching those late night infomercials.......Do you remember the two Guys in the Junk Yard, One had a really funny voice, like he had been smoking 12 packs a day for 20 years, they started up a junk car, & the engine ticked so bad till they poured in some Pro-Long, then it was running like new...............That Guys voice cracked me up!!!.......

3 more mpg from a pour-in? I rather doubt that.

As a general rule, I don't put things from the "as seen on TV store" in my engine, or truck, or house for that matter. Except PB Blaster.

And if using syn oils got that much boost, it would be mandated by law cars had to use it. When I had the Grand Cherokee I tried synthetics. Using regular 10-30 conventional, it got a 15.9mpg average over 1000 miles. Switched to a 10-30 full synthetic, reset the average, and got 16.0 over 1000 miles. Hardly a spectacular change, and easily could have been attributed to error.

Using a thinner oil may have some effect, newer cars are calling for 5-20 instead of "traditional" 10-30.
