How to add more power

Ive got a 2000 f150xlt, with the triton v8 (4.6l...) It has 139k on it, also an automatic.. Just wondering, ive got a few hundred bucks to play with and am wondering what the best way to increase power and make the truck a little faster..

Tuner, long tube headers, and efans. Do a search on all 3

Which tuner, and long tube headers? its 4x4, not 4x2.... Do they have long tube for the 4.6 4x4? Also, whats the advantage over efan vs stock?

efans are around a 12-15hp gain up top, better fuel mileage, no anoying fan noise when accelerating or reving. I dont know who makes long tubes for the 4.6, but for the 5.4, the 2x4 and 4x4 are the same headers. Dynatech headers and the xcal II tuner

pacesetters are raw steel, they will rust, and if you get the coated pacesetters, they will rust from the inside out. dynatechs are stainless

i had pacesetter shorties and they cracked 3 times and the 4th time the collector cracked all the way around and fell off... yeah they are pure chit. shorty headers gain you NO hp or torque anywhere anyway.

A custom tune should be the very first mod you do! I'd throw gears in that list somewhere, maybe 4th. And a valve body upgrade too, harder and faster shifts. The gears and valve body aren't hp gainers, but it will make the truck alot more fun to drive.
