throttle cable

i need help, i have an 02 f-150. the problem i have is that my throttle cable has about a inch of slack (play) in it and there's not enough adjustment on the throttle body to tighten. my question : has anybody ever shortened the length of the cable and is it possible. NO WOT for me.
Thanks Brady

if you do a search , https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...ble+adjustment there is a fix for it...something about adding a spacer at your pedal,to take up the slack for the cable...
but if your talking about right at the TB Neal did a better spring set up https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...ble+adjustment

i was leaning towards a spacer or sinker. it almost looks like a compression nut at the end of the cable by the pedal, but i was too afraid to find out, glad i didnt cut it. a spacer it is, thanks for your help. i appreciate it.

Cool

HI!... You can bend the throttle cable plate to make up the difference or you can do what I did and fabricate your own adjustable throttle cable linkage.
