Thinking about doing a 4.6 to 5.4 swap

In my 2001 f150, should i just go with the 2v or is the 3v better? maybe the 4v (i think there is one) i plan on s/c. so which one is the best engine? Or dose it just come down to what i can find and rebuild? thanks for your imput

search the forums and see what you like best. buy an engine stand and build the crap out of the engine, take a year if you have to. taking your time now will benefit you in the long run. I've built a few camaro LT1 engines and i can tell you rushing = regret. not that somethign breaks but later on if you wanna add something serious you gotta pull the motor again, and again , and again etc... seeing as you have the luxury of a working motor keep it and build your dream motor pop on a S/C and drop it in.

just do a 2 valve, you can get plenty of power.

thats what i am planing but i just want to know which is the best base to start with.

ok sounds good to me, did you start with the 54 in yours or did you swap it out?
