Exclamation new to these trucks...need help!

i just bought an 03 f150 4.2 v6....i am hearing clicking noises coming from the front end when i first start to drive, for instance, i went to the store earlier...5min ride..heard it click about 10 times on the ride..then i stoped with it still in drive for about 5mins and heard it click or even maybe a knock about 15 times...the ford garage told me this was normal, but i just dont know if i trust them...anyone have any input?

What position is your climate control in? It could be your A/C compressor cycling.

the lead mechanic at ford told me that it was just part of the drive cycle...things coming on and the fuel injectors working properly...it would help i suppose if i knew more about these trucks but unfortunately i dont..not yet anyways

The compressor runs and cycles in all positions except off, vent, and floor.

Yup, and it seems particularly loud on the V-6 from ones I've heard, like the old 5.0 in any car. Park it, pop the hood with defrost or a/c on and see if it's the same clicking. Mine had a faint clicking while the compressor was engaged but ended up bieng noisey because it was low on refrigerant. Almost sounded like a rubber mallot banging in a tin coffee can, but not nearly as noisey.
