DPFE sensor

Repalced the faulty sensor. Cost $129.00 at dealer. CEL has gone off.

My truck has 165000 miles on it. Question> should the oxygen sensor have been replaced by this time or will it set off CEL when it goes bad?? And will it do any to improve gas mileage??

Thanks Gene

New front O2 sensors may help the gas mileage at this point.

..or they may make no difference or very little difference.

Personally, I don't change them unless I have fault codes or some other issue that can be attributed to weak, lazy, or otherwise inefficient O2 sensors.

YMMV.
