squeaking and chirping

Hey guys

So, I have a 2000 F150 extended cab with a 4.6 L 4x4.

I have a chirpin noise that seems to come around 1400rpm. it increases in frequency with my THROTTLE, not with the rpm. i.e. if i hold down my brake and hit the gas, the frequency of the chirping increases at a faster rate than my rpm does. Oh, and for a final head-scratcher, it stops doing it if i kick it into neutral.

to me, this means its not a drivetrain issue to do with wheel bearings or anything that is moving, rotating, etc.

Anyways, I'm out of ideas. How about you guys, any clues??

Thanks,

Tanner

The first thing I would do for the noise you have described is take the serp belt off and run the engine without it for a few seconds to see if the noise goes away. If it does go away check the pulleys for loose or extra bearing play.
