sparkplug shot out

I have spent most of the night reading about fords problem with spiting out sparkplugs. Mostly what I have read about were in the 5.4L, but I have a 4.6L and just had that happen today. I have looked at the head, and it still appears to have the threads in it still. If the plug were to have just loosend itslef out, is there anything that should do before putting a new plug in it? The only thing that i worry about is that on the old plug, the bottem of the plug was melted. I havent read anything about someone just having the sparkplug loosen itself out, that is why I am asking. thank you

My first "blow out", the threads were still in tact. The plug went back in completely normal, tightened up normally, everthing. That lasted 10 months and I don't recall how many miles...until the same one blew again. If you've done your research then you have by now discovered the Time-Sert is THE repair for this. If the plug goes back in, yea, I would stick it back in until it blows again and then deal with it then. You just have to be prepared to be stranded when that happens. I was. You might not be. Different strokes and all that. If it's a front, or eady plug to get to then yea, go ahead and do the Time-Sert now as it's pretty dang easy!

Put the plug back it. You don't tell us what engine you have but if it blows out again remove the plug wire or COP and unplug the corresponding injector and drive it home. No need to be stranded. The truck will run a little ruff on 7 cylinders but it will get you home.
