MSD for the F150?
Don't know what truck you have but older F-150's had two coil packs (one for each side of the motor) and spark plug wires. This was before they switched to the individual COP. I think they switched in '99 or somewhere around there, not sure. This is not a mod or upgrade for the COP, this is a very cool MSD replacement for the factory coils on those trucks that had them. If you have an older truck wth the coil packs/plug wires then yea, great upgrade.
MSD doesn't make an upgrade for cop motors. the 6al box wont work. they do make an upgrade the 2 coil paks.

There might be a controller made just to handle a two coil pack system but what benifit do you xpect on a stock motor?
There are hi performance packs made for these motors without resorting to the hassle of a box but you still won't see a gain.

MSD in and of itself gives performance gains, and adds to other mods you put on. the fact that it gives such a massive spark means you burn fuel more efficently and get a bigger explosion inside the cylinder thus giving a few more HP. adding in other mods only makes what the MSD box does work better. this is not the first mod im planning, simply wondering if anyone has ever done it.
btw there is an awnser to dual coil pack vehicles. two boxes, its how i ran my ranger while it was still a 2.3L (though eventually i did the 302 swap). and if you were wondering why i needed 2 boxes for a 4 banger its because it had 8 plugs in it.

I didnt see that when I looked to see if they had replacement cop's. $500 just for the box wow. I bought a whole ignition for my old Mach I for that much. Better be a pretty big performance gain for that. the box plus all the other stuff. Looks like an Msd ignition would set you back around $700..

one thing about the digital line is they come with alot more than a standard MSD. programmable rev limiters and boost retard settings alone are a big plus. the built in two step is always a hit at redlights when you pull up to some high school kid lol.
