that doesn't matter 60K isn't that much. The only time high miles ever affected the oil i used was my truck 86 f-150 300ci straight six (now that was one hell of an engine!) 160K and still going strong until i failed to yield right away and some jerk t-boned me! (in another f-150!)
Anyway i didn't use synthetic only cause i didn't want to waste the money. I would use thinner weight oil the winter and thicker in summer.

Ahhh...I couldn't agree more, I had several of those trucks as well. I can't say a bad thing about that motor. But anyway the two big things with the 5-20 synthetic is gas millage and engine tolerances (specifically crank and bearings). Apparently the specs are tighter on the new motors requiring a thinner oil to get in between the bearing surfaces. The 5-20 is supposed to produce better gas millage a well. I run 5-20 in mine year round. A synthetic will take a lot more heat and millage before the oil starts to break down. As well as cold temps, a 5-20 synthetic will start easier then a 5-20 conventional. It lubricates to its full potential quicker then a conventional. Because temp don't affect them as much. If its a vehicle thats not driven all the time like mine, regardless of millage even synthetic should be replaced about every 6 months, and regular oils every 3. You may not notice much of a difference until you start racking up some miles, but your motor will love it in the long run. My 87 P.O.S., thats a different story.

kasparsport stay with 5w-20 or go with 0w-20. I would use a full syn whatever brand floats your boat, i think amsoil is the best.

If it ain't broke, don't break it. It's not that difficult, y'all...
With the Texas heat and the city driving I do I use 5/30 M1 in the summer and go 5/20 M1 in the winter ( 2 weeks in December down here :santa: ).
never a problem and I'm rolling up on 95K.
P.S. I went full Syn. on my '08 Harley MC at the first 1K check up.Certainly quieted it down.
