rpms dropping

rpms dropping
i have a 2001 5.4l with the edge in it and when i am doing about 65 or so my rpms are at 1700-1800, well when i left off the gas about 2 seconds later the rpms drop really hard to 1500, i can feel the engine just slow down and my speed drops quick, is it something to do with the edge or what
