i just replaced the water pump in my 1993 (or so i thought) f150
w/a 4.9L I6 and the pump didnt fit so i got a pump for a 1992 and a 1994 and the 1992 fit it was the same as my old one the nice man at napa told me to look at the door jam sticker and it read year 06/92 so is it a weird thing on the pump or is my truck a 1992

Most likely an eatly model 93....remember, they put the date that the vehicle was made, and a new vehicle model year always starts before the real new year. Just like how the 2008 models are getting ready to come out (hell maybe they are alreayd out, I dont know )

Ford could have changed the pumps midway through 1993, just a guess though, I dont know for sure.

Tell them it's a 93 with a build date of 6/92.

Check the tenth didjet of the VIN. If it's an "N" it's a 92, If it's a "P" it's a 93.
