That's right - they call that solenoid next to the main fuse block - That's pretty freakin stupid , but they call it that nowadays - Use to just call that the "relay" on the firewall - But , yea, that confuses yuh , well me anyway- the starter itself has a solenoid on it , that's what I thought you replaced.

So You need to check that little wire connected to the starter - VERY common problem - that little wire corrodes and looses it's connection or breaks off - You know what I'm taking about - you need more pics - or you got it?

wow, I just busted my Transmission Range sensor, its on the driver side, left side of tranny next to the linkage. I broke mine wheelin, but I suppose it can go out, it's super easy to change, two bolts and some lube. Auto Zone was the cheapest I could fine, 36 bucks, and don't freak if your has 12 prongs, and the new one has 11...don't need that one. Actually there is no connector for that 12th one in the clip. Have you tried the jumper trick with a small jumper cable. One clip to the top notch of the firewall solenoid...remove the rubber boot to connect and then the other clip to positive on battery. Make sure to have the key turned to ON when you do this. If it starts than it is either the TR sensor, or it could be your ignition switch under your steering column. It's a white rectangle box, with two screws and a connector.

I checked the connection with my fingers when this first happened because I didnt have any of my tools here. The cabinet is somewhere else Everything seemed to be tight, but I couldnt really check for corrosion since i didnt have wrenches.

When i get back, ill check the 50Amp fuses and the mega fuses also. Start with the cheap parts 1st. Thanks again

Dollars to donuts the wires to the starter are corroded.

the verdict

After battling rust in the eyes......it was the starter wires. I cleaned them up with an old can of brake cleaner, and a wire brush (took them off the starter of course). Slapped them back on, connected the battery and vrooom. Thanks for all the extensive help and suggestions. Much appreciated

Haha Great!! Yea I took that pic right before I started in on cleaning it up. Not a damn thing was wrong with it , the truck started fine - no problems whatsoever...

So what happens? I went to loosen that little nut and freaking thing busts off!! Post and all - no way to fix.

So now the trucks down and I needed it the next day - called around , nobody has just the solenoid . So , the good old boys at Carquest delivered me a starter - cool dudes up there - they said I can use there little machine shop in the back any time . Mannn, they have a shaper , surface grinder - to bad they don't have a CNC machine , but hey , they have a plasma cutter now I hear.
