Just did this fix yesterday, search for damper or fan removal to see the saga.

I have a 97 F150 4x4 with a 4.6 and 125k miles.

Mine developed a squeal over the last couple months, and I finally figured out that the pulley was getting out of alignment, ie, the rubber was failing on the damper.

I got the new one from Ford, (Windsor motor) for about a $105 or so. Ordered on Friday a week ago, got it the next Monday night.

Word of warning, the Ford parts schematic shows a 5.0 style damper and pulley for the 4.6 engine, and the 4.6 is one piece. Took some discussion with the parts guy, but he finally ordered it by the part number, and it was the correct one.
