300 I-6 Revlimiter

I have a 93' 300-6 f150 4X4 and was wondering what kind of revlimiting system it has on it and when it activates, because i missed a gear today and she revved pretty high but no revlimiter kicked on.

There's some physical limit on the frequency that the ignition system can function, but there's no specific number built in anywhere. You stomp it, it's gonna rev up until something breaks.

I never go over 3500 RPM on mine, except once when I left the cruise on & slipped it out of gear. I think it hit ~4500 before I kicked the brake. But with this engine, there's no reason to go over 3500 - both torque & hp fall off quickly above that. Mine will do ~115mph in D (4th gear) without hitting 3500 RPM.
