I think you need a distributor driven off the front of the motor, and the contol box.
Or a front toothed sensor set up and control box and coils in lue of a distributor.
I have a nice photo of a DOHC motor outfitted with a dist ignition setup and a carb.
Look in MM&FF mag at the equipment now offered to do these things.

You would need custom wiring depending on what system is used.
The stock wiring would all be related to the original PCM control and normally not be used.
No injectors, no coil feeds etc unless a kit reuses any of the harness.
The fuel pump issue would have to be addressed because a carb works at no more tha about 7 psi of fuel pressure.
Either a different pump has to be used in the tank, an external pump picking up fuel from the tank or a front mounted belt driven pump assembly.
I would still use a two pipe system and not try to employ a dead head arrangement, especially for hi performance.
