Oil?

I have a 2004 5.4L f-150. I usually use Vavoline Durablend 5w-20 in it but they discountuned that oil ( which is dumb??) so now i am switching

I guess I am just wondering what oil you guys are running in your newer fords??

I was thinking about putting in Ford Motorcraft syntheticblend 5w-20?? or I might just go with the Mobil 1 fully synthetic 5w-20???? how about Vavoline Durablend 5w-30?? it says use 5w-20, but why not 5w-30??

thanks for any advice!

Just use the MC 5w-20. It's a good oil and you can get it cheap at Wally's World. Even in 5 quart bottles.

If you want to use a blend, the MC is as good as any. If you want to go full synthetic, Mobil 1 is as good as any.

Don't think so much

People spend WAY too much time thinking about oil. If the engine calls for 5W20 then use 5W20, all the brand names are good so use whatever you want. Just don't cheap out on the filter to offset the cost of the oil.

I agree with kingfish and going with MC synthetic blend, you can get it at Walmart in 5 quart jugs for around $10.00. And it's reccomended by Ford so you really can't go wrong.
