Cold Air Intake

Hey, i have a 2003 5.4 fx4 with straight pipes and i noticed that i dont get nearly enough power as i did with the 40 series, i figured a cold air intake would increase the power and gas mileage a little, whats are the 3 best cold air intakes out there for my truck, thanks

It sounds like you should put the muffler back on. Flowmasters dont usually give a lot of power compared to Borla or Maganflow.

As far as intakes
-AF-1 is probably the most popular
-K&N is always a pretty good brand
-S&B for closed intake

Outlaw and AEM seems to give good gains also.

Put a proper exhaust back on - that will get your power back.

IMHO, Electric fans will give you more HP gains than any CAI. I would put fans on before the CAI.

I had the Volant CAI and couldn't tell a whole lot of change except the sound of the air rushing thru the filter. I actually still have it but I am gonna keep it in case I go back stock with my truck.......yeah right.

The Roush unit is made by Airaid. They just change the badge.

I have the airaid. Got a great deal on the classified section. My throttle response has improved and you gotta love the growl.
