hey im looking into buying a 2005 XL 5.4L triton, it has 61,000 mi for about $18,000. i would like to know how good of a deal that is? and if anyone owns one i would like to know about how much they spend on a tank of gas and how many miles can you get out of it?

 

Your best bet to find out if it is a good deal is to look in your local paper and auto trader and online sources for comparable prices. 18k seems a little high for a XL...but I don't know for sure. Milage varys greatly by driver habits. You will find that the guys that get 14 and less drive very agressive. My 04 screw 4x4 consistantly gets between 17-18 mpg with mixed driving. I haven't done a whole tank on the freeway so I don't know what the top milage is. I have the big tank and it costs about $95 to put 30 gallons in. Miles out of the tank? or miles out of the truck (how long it lasts)? I get about 550 miles per tank. the truck will last forever with good maintanance.
