low oil pressure?

since the german ford dealers have no clue about the f150 i try here first. every time i start my beloved truck cold she gives me a "low oil pressure" warning on the display. i know the oil level, viscosity and quality is right. the message disappears within a fraction of a second and the gauge shows normal oil pressure. i use the motorcraft oilfilter which is suppost to have that valve that prevents backflow of oil. she is doing that since i have her (2005) i just had to use my digital camera to be able to read the message that disappears that fast. thanks

al the warning lights come on when u first start it up. whats a fraction of a second?? is it staying on after the a.b.s ,airbag light go off??. you can always check the oil pressure with a real gauge. thats much more accurate.

ja, the message comes up after all other ignitionlights turned off. its the second when the engine runs on higher rpm after startup.

i would just throw a real pressure gauge on and find oyr the REAL pressure. if that checks out good i wouldnt worry about it.its not coming on when you are driving aroud right?? definetely keep using the motorcraft filters.

That is normal. The oil pressure does not get up to normal levels until a few revolutions of the motor.

I apologize in advance for bringing back this old thread. I just bought an 04 lariat with 88k. I get this message the same way the OP does. Just a fraction of a second. Is anyone else getting this? I don't remember seeing it on the other one I looked at. Truck starts great, sounds good running. No other issues. I have not crawled under to see if its a FRAM or motorcraft.

OK- It's a motorcraft. Checked OIL level. It's good. Listened to it from outside cold start. Doesn't sound starved for oil at all. Bad switch... Or computer is two quick to take readings? Anyone else see this. I mean it's for a split second Before I even get the key back from the START position

Oil pressure doesn't come up immediately when you crank it.........

Agreed. Wouldn't you think however that ford would put a delay in before the MSG center displays the message. It's on and off before I let the key go from start. The only thing I can even remotely think of is that the battery/ starter is low on power and takes longer than expected to start up. To me- it starts up quick. Just several rotations. Any other thoughts- I've had another car with message center and it never acted like this.
Would a video help?

I think the deal is it comes on then goes right off to let you know its working. Bottom line is its normal.
