Thumbs up My 5.4 needs power

Me being the kid that I am want more power for my truck. My friend has a stock lifted titan and it is almost as fast as my f150 if not faster I know he has a 5.6 but still how can I unleash the power of this 5.4.

Here is what I have...The edge on lvl 2, k&n 66 series cold air intake.

I want true duels I think (I've heard they are the best for performance correct me if I am wrong) I was thinking of going with the magnaflow but am not sure on the model and I want rear exit.

I was also thinking of getting efans and pulleys I have no clue on what kind to get. (maybe moto blue for the pulleys but other than that I know nothing about them).

I do not want to go the supercharger route too expensive and cams would be the last thing to do. I am also lifting the truck with a 6" fabtech lift and 35x12.50s in a month. I am planning on regearing with 4.10's to help with acceleration.

Other than what I wrote I have no idea on what to do and I am tired of his Titan kicking my *** so I am up to suggestions and like I said I am looking for better acceleration and more hp and torque. Thanks Guys!

E-fans, yes, pulley's, i dunno. Get a quality exhaust, true duals if possible and maybe headers, longtubes if available, I can't recall if they exist. If it were me, I would get the blower and send his rice mobile back to Tokyo or wherever the f those ugly things are made. A supercharger ensures not only winning, but by alot in most cases. Choose your opponent wisely.

just curious.... what gears are you running now. Are you running the stock level 2. The 5.4 arnt fast. But put something behind them and youll see right away why they are better then the rest.

the Titans are fast I had an 06 Crew Cab LE 4x4. My truck now is slower but I like it better than the Titan.

I am running the 3.73ls right now, and my stage 2 is tweaked (I asked what other people were running on a different post a few months back) its not the stock setup that comes with edge.

I also have 2 amps running off of my battery right now and I have heard concerns on here about power loss with the electronic system. Will underdrive pulleys and e fans take too much power to run?

Does anyone know a good long header that is made for the 5.4 for the 04 and up.

Depends on if you have the money for a highend altenator. They make some that put out twice to three times the power of stock for 600$

Im not sure that I would be looking to put true duals on. IF done correctly they can work nicely, but you cant go slaping some pipes on there and call it good. That is where you will be kicking yourself if your wanting power. Exact same reason I decided to stay away from a true dual setup this time around and just did a SI/DO setup.
Now if you go with a premade Magnaflow setup, that the way to go, imo, if you can spend 400 bucks on an exhaust.

Efans, definatley go for them. Pulleys...those are a touchy subject, Im not sure that they are worth it, especially if you have a big stereo and are going to be running efans.

Some guys on here seem to be getting nice gains from a set of headers (long tubes). Dynatech is no doubt some of the best you will get, but for a price ($900+).
A lot of guys are going with the cheaper Pacesetters and are pretty happy with them. About half the cost of the Dynatechs.

If your going with 35s I would consider sticking some 4.30s or 4.56s in there instead....

Thats my 2cents

You'll see nice gains from true duals, IF done correctly (she'll also be nice & loud). Use the search.

Efans are a good idea. A pulley set would be nice also. You'll need to turn up your idle RPM with a tuner to keep the electrical system happy.

If you're putting it on 35's, go with the 4.56's. You'll only be kicking yourself later if you go with something lower.

Any seggestions on nice alternators, because as of now that is what I am thinking of doing. I am also going to get a true duel system from magnaflow.

As for the gears I might compromise with the 4.36's. Also will wait until after the lift until I get the Dynatech longheaders.

What are the problems I should look for with the "IF" my true duels are set up correctly??

Why true duels ? Looks and sound maybe ? Idunno why people do this - Usually I see one side hanginging down on trucks with these systems - looks kinda cheap . As far as performance , they really don't add to it. Whats the purpose ?

Oh you mean the USA? Cause that's were they are designed and built! ( but we wont' get into that )

As for mods, my list would be E-fans, long tubes, good 3" single exhaust, tuner, and maybe a 75-100 shot of the laughing gas.

Hopefully your buddy in his Titan isn't planning on doing the same thing....

Are you thinking Tundra here? The only problems that I know of with the Titans was the brakes and rear ends.

Yea , I'de like to see that Tundra snap a cam in that commercial they have out where the trucks pulling that big cargo container up the side of that cliff.

It would really be cool if the brakes went out at the same time
