isnt that the point?

Masone! opening your heads up is a GREAT idea, although the cost makes ya take a few ganders. you have 2 avenues.

Downtime or no down time...
Downtime: send your heads off to be ported by someone, www.foxlakeracing.com did my 2v's
no down time: either buy ported heads outright, or buy a set off a wrecked truck and send them out. obviously this costs more but you have your daily driver.

I love my truck and speed wasnt much of a priority when buying it I just get a little jealous when I go to the track and watch my bro and dad.

Is it worth it? Or is being s/c really the only way to go? Anyone have any 1/4 mile times with 04+ with heads? Or dynos?

i have a 2006 mark lt with the 5.4. i put a 75hp zex wet kit it helps the truck move these 38's. i'd recommend it. also exhaust helps!

From what i have seen on these trucks there isnt really a head and cam package out for them. You can of course get your existing heads ported and polished which will usually make for some substantial gains. Cams youd probably be looking at a company to custom grind some for you. Both of these would probably be somewhat expensive. I would start with the headers and a good exhaust with a tune to go with it all.

When your trying to go fast you can only go so far with bolt on parts. Then you have to go to the big dollar parts but they also make the largest difference. The only one that will make you a good chunk faster without breaking the bank is adding a nitrous system.

Total misconception, and absolutely false. I run around 2k RPMS at 70 mph~. I switched from 3.55LS factory to 4.1LS and gained .2 consistently mixed driving.
