Pulley Comparison

Just looking at the price of some of the underdrive pulley kits. Troyer has a 2 piece kit for $200+ range and BBK has a 3 piece kit for 170ish. Anyone use the BBK or have info on them? Hard to justify the extra cash, looks like pulleys would be pretty simple, just make the ratios different.

Underdrive pullies

I installed the Mac pulleys, they work great. They slow everything down so the engine doesn't have to work as hard to spin the accessories. The pulleys ran me $139.00 and about 2 hours to install.

Thanks guys, I was looking at all of them. Makes no sense to me why one is $139 and the other is $230. Seems like a big difference for a simple pulley set. BBK's stuff usually is good, so can't see spending the difference. MAC is also, thanks for the help.

If I were you I'd stay away from the BBK pulleys. I ordered them and sent them back. The reason that they are cheaper is because they are aluminum pulleys for water pump and alternator and a spacer/pulley for the balancer. Bad idea IMO. Looked like you would have to drill out the threads in the Balancer and put bolts thru it into the spacer pulley. I did not want to do this for various reasons so I returned them and ordered the ASP kit which comes as a water pump pulley and new balancer.

Mac performance makes alot of stuff for the 4.6,its primarily for Mustangs and Cobras, but the stuff they manufacture also fits our truck 4.6,they carry several performance parts for the 4.6,check out their web site, they have some pretty neat stuff.
