Knocking

Okay need a suggestion on what could be the problem. We have a Ford F-150 2002 with 4.6l engine. It has a little over a 100000 miles on it. It started sounding like the bearing on the water pump / alternator was going. We changed the water pump, alternator, pullies, etc. The noise did not go away. The noise sounds like clapping grinding noise kinda of like a ball in a spinning wheel. Two days later the oil pressure and water guage kept dropping and then back to normal. Went on for about a day. We drove the car the other day to our mechanic the other day and the car lost power just about every time to stop light. We had to jump the battery a few times. It finally started died and we changed the alternator and then it started knocking really bad. The sound is still there but worse. THe sound sound like it is coming from near the bottom of the motor near the front of the truck. We are going to pull the engine on wed but wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions.
Thanks

No codes for the oil pump but I would pull the oil pan off and check the pickup tube for the oil pump. I would bet the screen will be clogged up due to poor oil change habits. My guess could be way off cause there are other things that could also cause engine failure. If you don't know much about the Triton engines I would find a good mechanic and have him put in a crate motor.
