4.6L Stroker Kit???

One of my mustang buddys brought this up the outher day and ive been thinking. Would adding a stroker kit to my 4.6L f150 and supercharge or should i stick to my plan of adding a navigator 5.4L suppercharged? heres a link to one i found on E-bay $1,500 is alot cheaper then buying and building a 5.4.

You know the old saying, there's no replacement for displacement. It's all a matter of personal preference. If you can find the 5.4 at a decent price, maybe from a totalled out vehicle, the go for it. If not, stick with your 4.6. It's all a matter of what you want done, and how much you're willing to spend on it. I always say that you get what you pay for.

Stroker motor

I agree w/countryboy,there is no substitute for cubic inches, but with all the performance parts on the market today for the 4.6,building a 500hp 4.6 is very attainable,if you've got the $$$.If you bullet proof the bottom end(balance, blueprint, crank, rods, pistons, block prep.)re-work your heads, port, polish or go w/ a set thats already set up to flow more air and install a forced induction intake system, supercharger or turbo,500hp and more is there.A good racer friend of mine who helps me w/ my truck tells me there are two questions that you always ask,#1,how fast do you want to go,and #2,how much money do you have?Hope this helped, good luck.

your stroker kit may look cheaper until you start that project, why? you'll find something else you'll want to add to the project.

plus, you need to look at what you use your vehicle for.

yeh thats a cheap kit. cause its a cast crank not forged.. so ur limited to around 600fwhp. ur better off going all forged. not to mention that has the wrong rods.. 5.933 is stock length u want the 5.85 length rods for the stroker kit.. but the 4.6 has good potential the enw GTR doesnt use the 5.4 DOHC is uses a stroked n bored 4.6 that they call the 5.0 cammer that makes 440hp!
