my 98 silverado is puffing black smoke. What should I do?

 

Buy an F150 I reckon.

 

send it to the crusher.

Maybe it's trying to communicate with you..

Like maybe it's trying to say - "Just how long do you expect me to run?"

 

How many miles does it [brand X] have? How often do you change your oil?

I actually have an f150... but just wanted to get some reaction towards the weaker of trucks...

 

From all the times I have seen, black is not so bad, too much carbon, running rich, time for a tune up. Blue= um, better tear the engine apart, white smoke= water in the cylinder, too late Alls I would do is give it a good tune up, sounds due.
