Gotta LUV the V-10

Just got back from a family trip to NH. We took our E350 with the V10 (15 psgr). 6 kids, gear and 3 bikes. Up and down the hills doing 70 w/ the AC on and I got 15 + mpg. Coulda done better but we had a strong cross wind on the way up.

On the way home, we were coming up a long, steep hill and a new-ish Tahoe with pretty, shinny wheels started to try and pass me So I sorta raced it up hill. The van kept up with the Tahoe with ease until I hit 80 or so and Mrs. asked me to let up and be more concerned about the gas mileage. Being the intelligent person I am, I obeyed.

I coulda taken that Tahoe easy even with the massive load the V10 was carrying.

I love my van

Those V10 e350's have some serious power, I know what you mean. I used to deliver automotive batteries. We'd load 2 pallets full of batteries (25 car batteries times 3 layers times 2 pallets) and that van would fly.

Problem is, with that weight it's hard to stop

Tell me about it. I've made all kinds of mods to my 4.6L 03 Exp and the best i can seem to do is about 16.5 combined. What's up with that?

Wonder what I would get if I did a custom tune and efans on the van?
