spark plugs

spark plugs

i have a 2003 5.4l 4x4
im changing the spark plugs in it and i need a diagram or some kind of help to get to them, if anyone knows please help

no i dont have a fax but i really need some help though, because i cant even find them without crawlin all the way in the hood

Sounds like you are a novice, no offense. Be careful.
Your spark plugs are located about 8 inches below the valve cover on the block. They will have a coil pack on top of them. The coil pack looks like a black round plastic cylider with a wire going into it. They are held on by an 8 or 7mm bolt. Under the coilpacks are a rubber sleeve called the boot. The boot connects the coil pack to the spark plug. The plugs tehmselves can be oulled with a "plug socket" This deep well socket may have a rubber sleeve in it to grab the plug. Plugs 7 and 8 may be harder to get to as the motor is recessed into the fire waal. Do a forum search on 5.4 Liter Spark Plug Removal. You will find some guys have posted some excellent tips.
You may be looking for spark plug wires. They are not there as your truck does not have that type of ignition system.
