ok heres the 411 i bought the truck with a bad tranny so i bought a reman ford tranny the dreaded e40d took the old one out of the truck and put the new one in and decided to get anew starter while it was a part got it all in started the truck started fine but was makeing a metal on metal spinnig noise figured out it is comeing fro the starter like it not disengageing but it is i took it back to the store and compaired it to 3 others all diferent brand and it was the same so why dont the starter fit right
shimmed the starter about 1/4 inch to start the truck and test the tranny now the motor wont start it will spit and sputter if u hold the accellerator down some times it will start for a minute but then dies and cant be re started it has a new coil but still seems to have a week spark and it has a new fuel filter and seems to have week fuel pressure now yes the truck ran fine before the tranny swap the new tranny is from a e250
i compaired the fuel flow and spark to my 88 cougar and the fuel flow seems alot weeker but the spark is about the same help me please i go to basic training soon and this needs to run first also the motors a 5.0 efi
