Need help please
Alright, It is a 97 f150 with the 4.6 in it. When you are driving it, it acts like it wants to stall out. I replaced the plugs, wires and coils. It still acts the same. Then someone told me that it could be the DPFE sensor. I searched the forums and was unable or not awake enough to find if this would cause my problem. Any help would be appreciated. Oh yeah, the check engine light doesn't come on, so I haven't had someone hook it to a scanner yet. Will it still throw a code without the check engine light on? And last if it is the DPFE sensor what does it look like on that year? The haynes manual makes it look like it is a round, cylinder like part. Thanks
It doesn't actually stall out, it just seems like it is going to. The truck has a 153,000 on it. If it is the IAC where could I find it on the truck and next stupid question what is an IAC? Thanks for all the help.
Idle Air Control
It generaly is on top and back on the driver side of the TB should have 2 small screws holding it down and 1 Wiring plug going into it. That was the ptrouble with mine and i cleaned the TB also it was really gummed up at the butterfly on the air intake side.

controls bypass air around the throttle plate at low speeds. It's controlled by the powertrain control module.
Don't worry about a scanner - This will prolly help you allot -

In this thread the IAC is connected to the side of your throttle body elbow.
Yours may be located in the back by the firewall , like in this pic -

Or this one -

Try cleaning it up inside like described in the link I posted up top. Move the mechanism inside the IAC while giving it shots of WD 40/ lube.
Make sure the insides move freely - check for rust pits and carbon spots.
These things get stuck once in awhile - I've had mine for 216,000 miles and got away with just cleaning it up inside with cleaner , then forcing a lubrication wid compressed air ..
Good Luck..
