I think its getting towed to his favorite garage... There's no way in hell he'd pay the dealership prices. Or to get it towed all the way to the dealership.

Sorry for not posting those pics man. I was out in Cali last week on business an totally dropped the ball. I will post a new thread here tomorrow night with the pics. It will say Granatelli plug wires. Look for it by midnight CT.

Timing belt probably broke, especially considering it's a four cylinder.

The brief rough running prior to failure sounds like the crankcase position sensor, but the lack of cranking power could be ignition switch - or the battery could have just shot craps.

Cam drive belt.
Motor is locked up with valve against piston.
Belt should have been changed about every 50k miles.

I really doubt it was the battery. He knows a lot about cars (learned everything about him), and if it was the battery, he'd have done it himself and not have it towed.

That's a non interference motor, so you're alright if it is the timing belt.

Haha... It's never been changed to the best of my knowledge. He's waiting to hear back from the shop.
But in the mean time, his "loaner" truck (his works) is a 2002-2003 F-350 Crew Cab short bed dually. V-10 and 4x2. Or is that 6x4? I told him we'll have to break out the chains when he gets home and chain em up...

10 points for Quintin... He should be getting it back sometime today.
