edge question

Is the edge programmer worth it with a gas engine? is there a noticeable performance difference. I have the 5.4 bone stock and want some , as Tim Allen says, "More Power"

Nice truck
The edge will give your truck a noticable amount of power. The best benefit is the shifts it gives IMO.I recomend going with an Xcal2 tuned by Mike Troyer. He will give your truck the safest and most reliable tuning. With the price increase of the edge it isn't really worth buying it anymore unless you need the gauges or you don't want to wait. Also you need to be careful about adding more parts to your truck in the future if you buy the edge. The best bet is to think about what else you plan on doing to your truck in the future.
I think the edge is a great product but it can only do so much and you will just have to buy a custom tuner anyway.

X2 what he said.

IT all comes down to your plans. IF you plan on leaving the truck stock then the edge will work for you. Troyers tunes will be a bit better and cheaper but you will have to wait 6 weeks for them. If you ever pan on doing anything more to your truck that is the way to go. I whis i would have cause now i want to do some upgrades and i wont have the tuning for them.

THe nice thing the edge has is the guages. Xcal2 doesn't have these and thats wehre the edge has a slight leg up.

Hope this helps. Both units are good. Just depends on what you want. And dont foget. With your F150 online Discount im sure that the Xcal2 is cheaper than the edge after the price raise.

If you are planning on headers and CAI i would recomend going with the Xcal2.You can adjust for tires with that also.

Edge Evo

i got the edge evolution programer for my truck and i noticed a pretty decient power gain. its not like your getting gobs of hp and tq from the chip buuuut as long as you have an automatic tranny then thats where your really gonna notice the power gains. it changes shift points and all that good ****. i paid $351 for mine and i dont regret droppin that in my truck at all.

Hey edward , is that a longbox or is it just the angle of the pick ?

Your trucks gotta a nice clean look to it . The lift and 35's go together perfectly.

Nice Job..

Not always
Exhaust will not bother it
I added an AF1 intake and mine ran scarry lean
It really depends on how much more your intake flows more than stock.
Others run the same combo and have no problems.Alot of that has to do with their intakes not flowing as much as the AF1.The edge programmer makes alot of its power by leaning out the motor some.Any CAI will also lean the motor out some the question is wheather your CAI will put it over the limit with the edge combined, mine did!!!
To take care of a lean condition only custom tuning can be done such as the Xcal2.The edge can't make up for a lean condition except at WOT because that is the only place you can increase fuel
