I parked the truck a week or so ago when I started smelling gas fumes in the cab of the truck. I let it idle and noticed it was dripping.
I found the source of the leak (shown in the box on this image):

Anyone ever run into a fuel leak coming from inside this sleeve (and how did you fix it)? I've searched and seen people mention the Dorman fuel line repair kit, but I have no idea how I would fit the one end to the hard line.
Obviously there are two lines going through this sleeve and I assume one is the feed line to the engine and the other is the return line.
This looks like it will be real fun.

WOW !! Your right!! That is going to fun. Hey doesn't your fuel lines 90 further up and run on top of the tranny? What I'm thinking is splicing in fuel hose (protected) where you can get at it better.
Like where you can get at it better inside the frame to where it turns in route to the top of the trans. Know what I'm saying ? Bypass that clusterfook section completely.
You can remove your crossovers that string from frame to frame to give you the room - that has to be fixed.
Just an idea - I had to do mine that sorta way and used fuel line hose , but my break was at the filter connecter.

Also , if you remove your crossover that supports the tranny - your tranny will drop about 2 inches giving you more room on top if you need it. That crossovers easy to remove because they galvenized the bolts that run thru the frame. Well were in the hell did yuh go lol?

Well theres better fixes - but I just used fuel hose and a regular hose clamp - that was prolly 4 months ago , you have to get the right sizes and make sure you get fuel hose or it will eventually leak...I've seen kits you can buy as-well..
Are compression fittings rated fo fuel lines? You may be able to buy some hard line, a bender, and compression fittings and replace the leaking section. If you're really into it you could buy a flare tool and double flare the ends of the line and then replace the section. Or you could just replace the whole shebang.

ive always just used rubber fuel line for short splices like that. as long as its fuel injection line 3/8 i think. use at least 2 good clamps on each end. ive done 3 of those on my buddys 92 dakota. no problems. hes to cheap to replace all the way from tank to fuel rail so... lol thats another story.

I found that sleeving covered flexible hoses attached to the hard line from the fuel filter side and the had line near the transmission.
The large sleeve was worn through in one spot, beneath which the blue plastic tubing covering the flexible line was worn through as well as the flexible line. It was rubbing against a stamped hole in the metal under the floor board. I inspected the other line that had a gray plastic sleeve on it and it had no wear.
I cut out the flexible hose part (about eight inches long) out and got 5/16" FI hose (Goodyear J30R9) and pushed them on to the hard lines about three inches and two EFI hose clamps on each end. I'll keep an eye on this and see how it holds up over time.
There was a stamped steel piece bolted to the bottom of the frame that went from one side to the other. I removed it to gain a little better access. I had no idea what this thing did, but I put it back on when I was done.
