i have done it, the two options i have used are (when you leave your lights on and battery is dead keypad doesnt work!):

1. My roommate is a cop and he brought his jimmy deal and unlocked it.
2. Went to local ford dealer with vin and proof of insurance and they made me one for $4.50 just to get in.

Hope that helps, good luck........

I don't know if you have the sliding back glass, but you can try that, but if not. Price the windows to see what is the cheapest one to replace. I think the windshield usually ends up being the cheapest though. Or you can pry the top of the driver's or passenger's door open a little to where you can use a long drill bit or something. I've used that to help my room mate break into his chevy when he locked his keys in. Hope this helps

That sucks I had a key made right at the dealership for a 98 YUKON when the same thing happened to me. If you have a copy of your registration, any service department at any ford dealer should be able to do this.

ALternatively, a lot of the big Insurance companies (AAA, Statefarm, Allstate, etc...) usually come with free roadside assistance. This should be covered by your carrier and they can send someone out at no charge to use a Jimmy to unlock your car. You may have to sign a waiver for any damage (which there never is, it's just a precaution from their standpoint), but they should be able to open it up in a matter of minutes. It just takes them forever to get out there.

This has happened countless times with me and other family members. I suggestion doing one or the other. Don't break a window though, it's not worth it.

I called the dealer and they said that there was a good chance that they could cut a new key.

This never happens to me becuase i always zip tie a key to the fron undercarriage and always keep extras of all my keys in my truck. that way im never locked out of anyhting. But i needed an extra to give to a buddy two days ago and out of lazyness i just broke that one of and gave it to him. .

**** me

Anyways

Probably too late to be helpful but remember this little trick. If you have remote entry like most electric door locks that you just hit the key folb and the doors unlock, if you have another folb at home and have a cell phone, call home. Get someone to get the folb, put your cell phone on speaker, hold the phone near the door and have the person at home push the button to open the doors. It works!

HAHA , No Kidding - That's cool as hell , I'll remember this one..

I locked my keys in at a powerwash before .. With the truck running - duhhh.

Well , lucky for me the COP Shop was just across the street, well , so I thought - It still took them 30 minutes to get there..

They Slim Jim'ed her and that was it - I always wanted to make one of those things lol. I usually carry a spare key in my wallet - most of the time and it's come in handy..
