Oil loss at the dipstick.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the two dots on the oil dipstick (low vs. full) in actual liquid measure? Is it one qt, 2, or even 3?

The reason I ask is that after 5000k on MC 5w20 I go from full to just over add. I have just under 25k and was considering going with the new AMS 0w20 which is 17500k oil, but wanted to know how much make up oil I might need.
