175,000 can i still add and be ok?

i have a 97 f150 that i recently got cleaned back up. i have used it for a work truck the last few years, and was wanting to do a little work to it as far as adding overall power. the truck has 175,000 miles, but still runs good shifts good, everything. excellent mechanical shape. if i was wanting to do mods such as replace heads and maybe even add a supercharger, will my block still be able to handle the extra power? i have heard these are some of the best built blocks, but didnt know if that was true. it is a 4.6 by the way.

the 4.6 is a strong motor. at 175k those rings have to be worn. if your going to add supercharger id just go ahead and do and replace rings, look at the bottom end etc..might have to do a complete rebuild if you want to add power like that. auto tranny?? when adding supercharger have to consider that also.

you don't want to do a valve job or new heads on a motor with that high of milage because the ring seal will be tested sorely. Adding a supercharger will make it even worse. You can do mods like exhaust or tuner with no problems though.
