OEM Ignition Coil Packs vs. Aftermarket

I am having a slight hesitation jerk between 45 and 55 mph. It happens when I ease in to the gas at that speed. If I give it some decent gas it rolls right through no problem. But if I ease into it 'stutters'. I am thinking it is the coil pack but can't decide what to buy. I am considering the "deal" that has been mentioned before on Ebay, the eight coils and plugs for $136. Any thoughts?

I had the same hesitation you are talking about.

I purchased the ebay deal for $104 and have 15,000 since....runs awesome

Biggest thing to remember is dielectric grease, its your best friend during the COP swap.

I also did the plugs since I was doing the COP's

Good luck..

Coil packs

I just purchased coil packs and spark plugs on e-bay from a company called Global automotive.I read a post on this site about the offer and decided to check it out. They are a Motorcraft replacement and fit many applications. They ran me $147.00 and the ups guy brought them to the front door 3 days after I ordered them.I installed them and I am very pleased w/ the way my truck runs.I noticed the difference immediatly when I started it.My truck idles better and makes power at all speeds. It runs like its brand new.If you are refering to the Global coil packs,I highly recommend them, they are an excellent deal for the $.Hope this helped, good luck.

Don't purchase Coil Packs , your truck doesn't use them ..

Look for COP's ..

Talking COP or Coil Pack?

I don't know the difference. I know Global Automotive is selling what I need. Some are calling them "COP's" some are calling them "Coil Packs", some are calling them "Ignition Packs", some are calling them "Ignition Coil Packs" and Motorcraft calles them "Ignition Coil DG508."

I call them the eight little black boxes on top of the spark plugs that are pain in the *** to replace that are causeing my truck to run like crap and are going to cost me some money!!!

COP'S = 8 coils, sorta like these here -

Coil Packs = Run 4 cylinders a piece and come on the earlier 4.6 L -

Talking Ahhhh COP!

I just figured it out "COP".....Coil On Plug! Bright light bulb just came on, but dimming quickly! Ordered my Global Automotive plugs yesterday, will report pack on performance. $104 for 8 COP's to my door...can't complain about the price, we'll just see if the performance is there as well.

holy thread resurrection batman. First post here and its for a buddy in dire need of help. he has a 00' screw fx4 with the 5.4 with a 107k and the truck will intermediately stumble around. i have read around (great forum btw) and decided he needs new COPs, and that global automotive is the way to go. i got on ebay and found this, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/8-IGN...RCHQ3aUSQ3a101, but not the "deal" that was mentioned in the first post of this thread. what plugs do you guys recommend, and is that link the correct thing. thank you for all your guy's advice.

NO ! - I wouldn't buy those. Here's Globals, they have a proven track record -

If you want to roll the dice and get those others you posted - go ahead. Who know's who makes those, they look like accels = Bad news, most of the time.
