Hard Start

My 98 4.6l is having some trouble starting. It doesn't stutter or anything. It just takes a few seconds of cranking to start. Not loke other f150s i have seen. What could cuase this. Plugs only have 10000 or so on them and the battery is new. I run fuel injector cleaner every oil change but maybe its time to get it done by the dealership. Any ideas?

The first thing I would check is fuel pressure. Also leave the guage on for 20 mins and see if the pressure drops alot. If it does drop 10-15+ then it could be the valve in the fuel pump.

DO AS HE SAYS FOR A FUEL CONCERN. IT COULD ALSO BE A INJ. STICKING PARTIALLY OPEN OR CLOGGED CAUSING TOO MUCH FUEL TO ENTER THE CHAMBER. THIS WILL CAUSE THE PRESSURE TO DROP OFF TOO FAST WITH KOEO. THIS WILL CAUSE THE INTAKE VALVES TO COLLECT TOO MUCH FUEL & IT WILL SOAK INTO THE CARBON CAUSING IT TO OVERRICH ITSELF. TAKING IT INTO A DEALER TO CLEAN THEM WOULD BE A EXCELLANT IDEA. HAVE THEM DO A FUEL FLOW TEST TO ISOLATE THE CONCERN.
