I think that's actually easier to do and less likely to do damage to the truck using this method (so long as all proper steps are taken, that is). Pulling engines out of the engine compartment in modern vehicles absolutely sucks for the most part...

It doesn't necessarily take a 4-post lift. I had to change the body on a Bronco recently, and I slapped something together from scrap metal & an $80 winch. Take a look:

I think thats what you have to do in order to change the oil filter or maybe change the spark plugs...

my uncle has had his cab off on his 04' 250 CC super duty twice now for repairs. If that blue truck was mine i would of went in and cleaned my undercarriage, done some headers and other stuff.

Did that for the first time not long ago. Hardest thing was undoing the emergency brake cable. It is much easier than trying to squeeze that engine out of the hood opening.(it scraps front and back)

e-brake cable? ever use a deep dish 1/2" socket? releasing the clips is easy using that method if thats what you were talking about.

haha yeh pretty much damn cab forward designs make it near impossible to do any work on the trucks now without removing the body. but it does save time takes maybee 2 hours to pull the cab off. but saves mucho time when doing work on these trucks.

While I agree with you, this absolutly sucks for those of us that live in the rust belt. Ever try to get bed or cab bolts out of a 10YO midwest truck? It can be almost impossible. + it seems to be yet another step to make repair work impossible for even the most accomplished DIYers.

You're right. I'm used to the good ol' south where you see salt on the roads once every 10 years or so...
