How big of a problem is HOT air intake?

From What I've learned about the Heat Shields from a K & N Engineer himself, is that The Heat shields don't do a whole lot anyway, yeah they might block a little heat, but who are we kiddin? if it's 90 degrees outside you aint suckin in Cold Air no Matter What! I tried to get a Heat Shield from them as well, and that's what he told me. Does make sense, I don't think you're going to gain much anyway with a Heat Shield!

If it's 90 degrese outside , it's prolly a good 120 under the hood , if not more. That little box makes a big difference.
